Serving over 1,200 residents, Givens is a nonprofit, United Methodist-affiliated organization that provides an outstanding quality of life in its family of senior communities throughout western North Carolina. Each community offers a unique lifestyle while ensuring that potential residents have a variety of subsidized, affordable, and market rate housing options available. Givens also provides over 6,000 people with support throughout the region annually through our outreach and partnerships with other non-profit organizations.
Established in August of 1975, Givens Estates began on a 160-acre farm donated through the estates of Dr. and Mrs. Maurice H. Givens. Since then, Givens has expanded their extension of the Methodist church through several senior housing communities, outreach ministries, and partnerships to support seniors, their families, and individuals living with special needs.
The Givens organization continues to be governed by a volunteer board of directors approved by the United Methodist Conference.
